2025 Schedule
Each class will take place on the third Monday of the month from 1:00 PM ET – 2:00 PM ET.
1
March 17th, 2025: Principles – Empty Steps
Hosted by Legacy Holder & Senior Teacher: Margaret Olmsted
Tai chi principles are guidelines for balanced, relaxed alignment and movement. One of the key principles is stepping empty. We learn to remain on one leg, upright and balanced, while stepping with the other foot without falling into it. Using imagery and practice, we will work this principle and find greater balance and understanding of the steps in tai chi and qigong.

2
April 21st, 2025: Inspirations from Nature
Hosted by Senior Teacher: Edna Brandt
The natural world can inspire our tai chi movements. In this session, we will breathe like cranes, be present like nesting birds, root like trees, and swim like manta rays.

3
May 19th, 2025: Principles – Differentiating Yin from Yang
Hosted by Senior Teacher: Patrice Wooldridge
In Chinese philosophy, yin and yang are opposing, complementary forces illustrated by a divided black-and-white circle. In this program, we will play with the experience of what is yin (insubstantial/receptive) and what is yang (substantial/active) as it applies to how we move both in life and while practicing tai chi.

4
June 16th, 2025: Five Excellences – Painting
Hosted by Tai Chi Teacher: Johanna Koelman
